Out of the 100 biggest metropolitan areas in the United States, 77 saw job growth within the past 12 months, with the Dallas-Fort Worth area at the top of those. Houston was second, with over 50,000 jobs added. As heartening as these massive job gains seem, however, many of the cities listed saw very small gains, and do not reflect a recovery by any means when counted.
People in Fort Worth who are still seeking employment may wish to take a look at the job fair hosted by Bell Helicopter. The manufacturing company has 700 jobs open for immediate filling. Applicants need to be at least eighteen years of age and have a high school diploma before applying. Jobs in several areas will be available, including military logistics, communications, engineering, research, and several other sectors. People from a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The fair will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center this Saturday.
