Hundreds of Jobs in Fort Worth Via GE Transportation

People with welding expertise, painting skills, assembly experience, and other skilled laborers may want to apply at the new Fort Worth General Electric facility. The $96 million locomotive unit will be offering employees an average of $41,000 annually in salaries, though workers may not be on-site until next year.

The company could provide many more jobs to the community through the suppliers and service providers it will surely need as well. All of this seems to be a boon for the city, which only paid a fourth of what cities normally pay for this type of contract. Experts say that the company could end up providing jobs for people in an 80-mile radius.
